Terms of service
The agreement between you and Finbit when you open an account or use this website.
Last updated 18 October 2026
Please read these terms before you open an account. By using Finbit you agree to them. Finbit is a demonstration project: it does not hold real money and is not covered by any deposit protection scheme.
1. Who can use Finbit
You must be 18 or over and give us accurate details when you sign up. One person may hold more than one account, but each account belongs to one customer.
2. Keeping your account secure
Keep your password, transaction PIN and two-factor device private. Never share them with anyone, including people who say they work for Finbit.
Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account. You can freeze cards yourself in the app.
3. Deposits
Deposits are credited after our team checks the proof of payment you upload. We may reject a deposit if the proof is unclear or does not match the amount.
4. Transfers
Transfers between Finbit accounts are instant and cannot be reversed once sent. Local and international transfers are held while we review them and may be rejected, in which case the full amount is returned to your balance.
5. Cards
Virtual cards are issued at our discretion and remain our property. You can freeze a card at any time. We may block a card if we suspect misuse.
6. Fees and limits
Our current fees and limits are published on the home page. We will give you notice in the app before any fee increases.
7. Suspending or closing an account
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account if these terms are broken or if we are required to by law. We will explain why unless we are not allowed to.
8. Our responsibility
We are responsible for losses caused by our mistakes. We are not responsible for losses caused by you sharing your security details or by events outside our reasonable control.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Where a change affects you, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days before it applies.
